BILLY KINSLEY

The Beatles, Elvis, The Everly Brothers and Buddy Holly were those who influenced Billy into the world of popular music. He was born in Anfield, Liverpool, England on November 28th, one of three children. Billy was and is still keen on sport activities, he was the Sprint Champion of Liverpool in 1961 and became runner up in Lancashire, and he enjoys the game of football and plays regularly with friends and other celebrities. He had a short three-month career as a shipping clerk before at the age of fifteen he partnered with Tony Crane and created a duo later to become The Mavericks this preceded phenomenal success with The Merseybeats and The Merseys. In the seventies he branched out as a solo and session artist and in 1975 with three soccer friends Billy created ‘Liverpool Express’. The band received acclaim in the UK and in Europe but their greatest success came in South America where they had three top ten hits. Billy co-wrote much of the bands early songs including ‘You Are My Love’ and ‘Every Man Must Have A Dream’ which were UK chart hits for the group. Billy has written music for record and for the film industry, he has also produced many recordings for other artists. More recently Billy organised a reunion concert for ‘Liverpool Express’, launching a CD ‘The Very Best Of Liverpool Express’ details about the band can be found on their official web site liverpoolexpress.com

Billy rejoined The Merseybeats in 1992, a reunion concert commemorated his welcome return to perform with Tony Crane, a musical partnership that lasted throughout the sixties.
